                                                  Camp Chores

Chores are done 2 per hand, When you have done your chore please copy and paste the time stamp and the chore done in the chore folder in the Forum.
"There are bosk to be groomed," he informed her, "and their horns and hoofs must be polished there is fodder to be fetched and dung to be gathered the wagon must be wiped and the wheels greased and there is water to be brought from the stream some four pasangs away and meat to hammer and cook for supper! hurry! hurry, Lazy Girl!" Then he leaned back and laughed his Tuchuk laugh, slapping his thighs."

                                                  List of Camp Chores

                                                  CLEANING LEATHER
Items such as kailla saddles and bosk harnesses need to be cleaned and oiled every few days to keep them soft and supple and in good working condition.

To clean leather: First wipe off any dirt or grime. Use a special "bar" of leather soap found in the supply wagon to clean the
leather. Then use a special leather oil also found in the supply wagon and work it into the leather.

                                                  COLLECTING BOSK CHIPS FOR FIRES
Everyday, the slaves will go out onto the plains and collect dried bosk dung into a large cloth sack to be used to fuel the fires of the camp. Don't forget to actually USE the bosk chips and stoke up the fire now and then.

                                                  COLLECTING BOSK MILK
Every morning, the servery bosk will be milked. The milk will be poured into a large barrel within the servery to be used for drinking and recipes for cooking. Occassionally these barrels will need to be cleaned out.

                                                  COLLECTING WATER
Every day, a slave will use a bucket to fetch water from the nearby river, bring the water to the servery and refill both the barrel of water used for drinking/cooking, and the basin used for washing.

                                                  DISHES
Washing dishes used in camp is expected throughout the day, a slave should not have to be told when this needs to be done. Dishes used during serves will be collected from around the camp, washed in a basin in the servery wagon, and replaced to shelves/pegs within the servery wagon.

                                                  FEEDING BOSK
Several bosk are kept in-camp and need to be cared for. The "wagon bosk", and "servery bosk" all need to be fed every day.

To feed:  Collect grasses from the plains in large bundles and bring the bundles to the pens behind the wagons and behind the servery. Collect water in buckets from the nearby river, and pour into large barrels in the pens.

                                                  GROOMING BOSK
The Ubar's bosk and servery bosk are expected to be well-groomed everyday.

To Groom: Each bosk is brushed out, removing dust and dirt from it's fur. Horns are shined with a cloth. Hooves are brushed, shined and polished. Grooming supplies are found in the supply wagon. After grooming, collect any hair from the bosk that may be on the brushes and separate it into sacks according to it's type (soft and fine, or coarse and thick). The
hairs later can be spun into yarn or cording.

                                                  ROASTING BOSK
In a Wagon Peoples camp, it is the Free Women that do the cooking. However, it takes nearly all day for a large hunk of bosk to roast on the spit over the cooking fire, so while doing this chore, RP that you are helping a Woman by turning the bosk or applying a smathering of spices or basting it with juices that drip into a pot underneath it.

                                                  VULO EGGS
The vulo are kept in small cages, 3 or 4 per cage. When the wagons are not moving, the cages are often set down on the grass near the back of the servery wagon where they will get some sun and some shade. The eggs will be collected in a basket and stored in the servery wagon. The vulo are fed a mixture of grains found in the supply wagon. They will be given fresh water every day.

                                                  CLEANING FURS
Each day a slave will go around the camp, picking up the furs and take them to a rack behind the servery wagon, and beat the dust and dirt out of them, then return them to where they were.

                                                  REFILLING BOTAS
Some drinks, such as kalana, paga, ale, and drinking water are kept chilled in botas in the river. To assure we always have a supply of the chilled drinks, the botas will need to be occassionally refilled from the casks in the servery wagon.

                                                  TIDYING INSIDE WAGONS
Think of this chore as you would clean your own house...tidy things up, dust, sweep the wooden portions of floors, tidy the furs on beds and on the floors, keep the braziers in the center of the wagon clean and lit, etc

                                                  Tuchuk Slaves

The wild girls of the Wagon Peoples are much prized as slaves within the walled  city of Turia. These girls have an insolence rare in a Gorean kajira. In their  brief leather chatkas, they gather bosk-dung for the fires, clean the wagons,  care for the bosk, and torment the dour Freewomen with their proud beauty, often  daring to steal meat from the cooking-pots and then running away, laughing.  Their pride and willfulness make them excellent slaves, for no Master wishes to  enslave a girl who has not the spirit to fight Him. They are variously called  kajira "slave" or sa-fora "daughter of the chain, or chain daughter". By  contrast, the Wagon People prefer the highborn beauties of Turia to serve them.  They will pay well for such slaves at auction. Some of the plainer women are  sold for as little as a brass cup. A really beautiful girl, particularly if of  free birth and high caste, might bring as much as forty pieces of gold. Such  are, however, rarely sold. The Wagon People enjoy being served by civilized  slaves of great beauty and high station. During the day, in the heat and dust,  such girls will care for the wagon bosk and gather fuel for the dung fires. At  night they will please their masters.

The leather chatka and curla  of the Wagon slave girls has already been discussed, but it is not the sole  costume worn by kajirae in the camps. The Wagon People, as nomadic raiders,  frequently loot merchant caravans travelling across the plains, and come into possession of many things not produced by themselves. One such thing is silk,  generally from Tyros. The Wagon Peoples are sometimes willing to barter silks to the Turians, but commonly they keep these for their own slave girls, who wear them in the secrecy of the wagons.

The dances of the Wagon kajirae are legendary. The words used to describe them are "barbarous", "savage",  "startling", "uncontrolled" and "wild". They are love dances, seductive in the  extreme, and go a long way towards explaining why the Turians so value slave girls of the Wagons. Their passion is unparalleled, their heat fierce. To hold  such a girl enslaved in the collar of submission is an experience without equal  on Gor.
